Naples, 28 March 2022 – Intesa Sanpaolo and the Campania Aerospace Technological District have signed a two-year agreement to support the growth of companies in the sector through the promotion and valorisation of new innovative projects.

Investments in research and technological services, enhancement of production chains, training courses and business opportunities in foreign markets are the salient points of the protocol signed in the historic Neapolitan headquarters of the Bank in via Toledo by Giuseppe Nargi, Regional Director of Campania, Calabria and Sicily of Intesa Sanpaolo, and Luigi Carrino , President of the Aerospace Technological District of Campania.

Intesa Sanpaolo , thanks to its territorial structure and the specialized structures with which it is equipped, will support entrepreneurs in the sector both through a discussion on the technical and industrial aspects of the projects and by making available the most suitable credit lines such as Nova+ Space&Security , the solution financing dedicated to investments in innovative technologies, patents and know-how intended for the creation of new technological products and services.

The Campania Aerospace Technology District , created with the aim of stimulating collaboration between research centres, universities and companies to create concrete opportunities for economic growth, currently has around 190 associated entities. Including 23 large companies, 19 research centers and universities (such as CNR, ENEA, INAF and the five Campania universities with engineering courses), 145 SMEs and other local entities.

In a recent report, Srm – Centro Studi connected to Intesa Sanpaolo reported that exports from the Campania aerospace supply chain reached, in the third quarter of 2021, a value of 422 million euros , equal to 60.3% of the southern figure and ‘11.7% of the national figure. In the South it is estimated that 100 euros of aerospace production are able to activate 32 additional euros in the area and 136 in the other regions and in the other sectors, for a total impact of 268 euros. In Campania it is estimated that 100 euros of aerospace production can generate 21 euros in the region and 39 euros in the rest of Italy, for a total impact of 160 euros .

Giuseppe Nargi , Regional Director Campania, Calabria and Sicily of Intesa Sanpaolo :
“The Campania aerospace sector has always guaranteed significant added value to the regional economy and with this agreement we further strengthen our support to accelerate the growth of the entire sector supply chain. This collaboration with the DAC will in fact make it possible to
promote the technological development and internationalization processes of Space Economy companies through new financial instruments designed to effectively respond to their needs”.

Luigi Carrino , President of the Campania Aerospace Technological District : “ With this agreement, the DAC generates new opportunities for its members. The possibility of accessing credit lines, subsidized financing, modern and innovative financial support tools for strategic technological investments generates development and economic growth for the entire regional manufacturing chain”.
