Angelo Vallerani has been confirmed President of the Lombardy Aerospace Cluster for the three-year period 2022-2024. The election took place, with a unanimous vote, during the installation meeting of the Board of Directors in its new composition after the Assembly held at the Ville Ponti Congress Center in Varese in the presence of the members.

Vallerani is Institutional Relations Manager of  OHB Italia , a company based in Milan operating in the Space Systems sector, in particular in the creation of satellites, payloads and related services, belonging to the OHB SE group where Vallerani is a member of the Executive Committee Board. He graduated in Electronic Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin. He has been President of the Lombardy Aerospace Cluster since 2016.

“It is an honor and a challenge for me to continue representing the companies in the Lombardy aerospace sector, which alone produces a third of all national exports in the sector. A significant result, also obtained thanks to the collaboration between large companies and SMEs which has so far characterized the industrial system of this area – comments the President of the Lombardy Aerospace Cluster -. The objective, from the beginning of my mandate, is precisely to allow small and medium-sized enterprises to be able to present themselves with their own strength in front of the most important global players in the sector. The work done so far, in synergy with the entire Board of Directors, has served to accompany SMEs on international markets. And it is on internationalization on the one hand and on the competitive strengthening of the innovation and qualification process of companies on the other that our action will also focus in the coming years. We have important challenges ahead of us, such as that of Advanced Air Mobility, an increasingly strategic objective for businesses in the Lombardy area and beyond, especially in view of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic event. The commitment and availability on my part , they are total”, concludes Vallerani.

Upcoming international events

And it is precisely on internationalization that the Lombardy aerospace cluster wants to focus, as a lever to increase the competitiveness of its companies on the markets. After a two-year stop, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the lack of in-person events, the long-awaited appointment with the Farnborough International Airshow returns , the main international sector event in which the most important international players participate. In the month of July, 14 Lombardy companies will take part in the event in London together with the Lombardy Aerospace Cluster. Participation in the B2B Aeromart Toulouse fair is also scheduled from November 29th to December 1st .
