Coatyarn produces high-technology coated yarns, composed of a high performing core and a thermoplastic coating. By combining different fibers and polymers, we create customized yarns that deliver superior performance, durability, and adhesion.
One example is our engineered coated aramid yarn, which yelds reduced application time vs conventional wet-resin systems, faster curing, high strength and toughness, unlimited shelf life and room-temperature storage. In our hot-melt yarn range, we utilise thermoplastic adhesives that after heat-setting create durable adhesion with all types of technical fibres and are compatible with all resins used in the post-processing phase. One of the polymers we use the most is our Co-PA (co-polyamide), a low-melt, largely bio-based polymer—aligning with our green production philosophy. We also offer EVA coatings, and a Co-polyester coated range that features a polyester core with a co-polyester coat to achieve a fully recyclable product. Our polypropylene (PP) coated yarns represent an innovative monomaterial solution, featuring a PP core combined with a low-melt PP coating.

Coatyarn è un’azienda tessile completamente made in Italy, specializzata nella produzione di filati tecnici rivestiti. I filati sono costituiti da anime e fibre tecniche successivamente rivestite con polimeri termoplastici e rappresentano una gamma estremamente ampia, sia in termini di materiali sia di possibili applicazioni.
L’azienda opera come fornitore alla base della filiera, offrendo il filato che viene poi utilizzato dai tessitori tecnici per la realizzazione dei tessuti destinati alle applicazioni finali. Coatyarn dispone di un reparto interno di Ricerca & Sviluppo, fortemente orientato alla progettazione di soluzioni customizzate in risposta alle esigenze specifiche dei clienti, sia consolidati sia nuovi, spesso legate a progetti innovativi.

Rapporti con il settore Aerospazio e Difesa
I filati Coatyarn trovano applicazione nel mondo dei tessuti tecnici per materiali compositi, che entrano anche nel settore aerospace. In particolare, l’azienda sviluppa filati destinati a tessuti in Kevlar e fibre aramidiche, utilizzati anche in ambito difesa, grazie a tecnologie proprietarie che consentono di realizzare materiali più efficienti in termini di peso, performance e resistenza.
Il valore aggiunto dei filati dipende dal materiale di rivestimento utilizzato: alcuni sono rivestiti con materiali hot melt, impiegati per la stabilizzazione e il rinforzo dei tessuti o per applicazioni adesive nei processi di laminazione; altri utilizzano polveri o materiali termoplastici che migliorano la resistenza all’abrasione, il touch e le caratteristiche funzionali del tessuto, come l’effetto grip.
Alcuni clienti di Coatyarn operano già nei settori difesa e spazio, anche se spesso le informazioni sull’utilizzo finale dei filati restano riservate. I prodotti possono essere impiegati in diversi contesti, dai tessuti tecnici agli interni dei mezzi, fino ad applicazioni protettive ad alte prestazioni.

Esperienza con CTNA e con l’evento
Questa è la prima partecipazione di Coatyarn all’Aerospace & Defense Meetings e anche la prima esperienza con il format di meeting B2B, ritenuto molto efficiente e funzionale. L’azienda è entrata in contatto con CTNA attraverso il Test Lab, avviando il percorso di registrazione e selezione per l’ingresso nel network.
Coatyarn guarda con interesse ai gruppi di lavoro CTNA e considera l’evento un’importante occasione per fare rete, costruire relazioni qualificate e avvicinarsi progressivamente al cliente finale, facilitando il dialogo lungo tutta la catena di fornitura.
