LeMur Srl is a textile Company based in Northern Italy and it is a European benchmark for the production of traditional elastic yarns: core of our business is single and double covering of spandex yarn suitable for knitting and weaving.
Moreover, thanks to the work of its in-house R&D laboratory LeMur Srl developed a worldwide patented technology for the production of silicone-based elastic yarns registered under the trademark muriel ®.
Services and applications:
• R&D focused on the development of new silicone types for elastic textile applications as well as combination of different materials in aerospace environments.
• Covering of elastic and rigid yarns to protect them from chemical and atmospheric agents in space environments, as well as from mechanical stress.
• Development of technical apparel and advanced textiles for mechanical and structural textile components used in satellites and aerospace vehicles.
Products and technologies:
muriel® is an innovative silicone based elastic yarn, characterized by high elongation with low force, has enormous potential in the Aerospace and Defence Industries thanks to the intrinsic properties of its raw material.
Unlike traditional spandex yarns, the elastic silicone yarn muriel® shows special features such as resistance to weathering and UV rays (no mechanical change after 3000 hours exposure), thermal stability between -40°C and over 300°C, chemical resistance in pH range 2 – 12, biocompatibility certified by independent external bodies. Also electrical conductivity and ferromagnetic behavior are possible for special application. muriel® can be processed bare or covered with any kind of technical fibers in order to enhance the yarn properties.
Mercato geografico di riferimento
